My "expert" gardening team consists of two pairs of feline siblings and Sadie, our lab mix. We were fortunate to find our gray tabbys, Miles and Maisy, at a local ballpark 7 years ago. Miles is the alpha of the cat pack but rules with a soft paw. He has white feet and a white patch of fur we call an ascot just under his chin. Maisy is the queen of the pride with green eyes and ticked fur. We think she may have some Abyssinian genes. She's super elegant.

We fostered Bosc and Anjou and decided to adopt them 4 years ago. They are both blind but still rambunctious and like to romp around the yard and even climb trees. Bosc is an extra lanky buff colored tabby. He slinks around like a small puma when he's trying to be sneaky. Anjou is a torbie with very unique spots. She is playful, silly and surprisingly brave. They make interesting chortling sounds when they are playing and are as sweet as they come. I've always got an eye on them when they are outside. Inside, they are snugglers extraordinaire!

Sadie is our resident cat sheriff. She's great at breaking up scuffles and she generally lets me know if anyone is up to no good. She's an incredibly loyal lab mix and a great friend.

I love to garden and I typically plant flowers and vegetables every year. The cats and Sadie are always around when I'm outside. The cats are keenly curious and watch every move I make. They love to roll in freshly dug dirt, check out mole holes and chase insects in the yard. They eat some of things I plant like kale and of course catnip. Insect tartar is sometimes on the menu as well. Sadie enjoys fresh tomatoes and sometimes selects delicacies from the compost pile. Gardening with the cats and Sadie is challenging in a mostly fun way but it's very rewarding. More to come about our gardening adventures.
